Myomectomy is a surgical procedure to remove uterine fibroids which are also called leiomyomas. These are noncancerous growths that appear in the uterus. Uterine fibroids usually develop during childbearing years, but not necessarily. They can even occur at any age.

The procedure will differ depending on what type of myomectomy the patient is having. It can be either Abdominal, Laparoscopic & Hysteroscopic
What is recovery like?
There will be some pain after the surgery. The length of time you’ll have to wait before returning to normal activities depends on what type of procedure you have. For abdominal myomectomy, it is four to six weeks, for laparoscopic myomectomy, it is two to four weeks and for hysteroscopic myomectomy, it is two to three days.
Will there be any Scar?
In case of abdominal myomectomy, there will be a scar likely about an inch below the pubic hairline but the scar eventually fades over time.
