To conduct this procedure, a doctor often uses a slender, flexible catheter to inject small particles also called embolic agents into the uterine arteries that supply blood to the fibroids and uterus. This procedure is conducted to block the fibroid blood vessels, making the fibroids starve and gradually shrink and die. It is also an alternative to Myomectomy
